Edgar Cayce On Cancer

Medical uses of castor oil cover a wide range of conditions, including tumor treatment.

Castor oil helps you get rid of tumors, which refer to swellings or abnormal formations of parasitic cells or tissue in many parts of the body that may or may not be injurious to your health.

Castor oil’s tumor treatment is popularly recognized as a form of folk remedy. Castor oil, a natural plant oil extracted from the castor bean seed, is said to pull out tumors from the body, according to American psychic Edgar Cayce. It is often recommended for the treatment of tumors near the surface.

  1. Edgar Cayce, widely regarded as a the father of holistic medicine, gave readings and information relevant to the discussion of colon cancer cure and rectal cancer cure. He explained that poor assimilations, poor eliminations, and overacidity in the body were all contributing factors in the occurrence of intestinal cancer.
  2. The unconscious Cayce believed there was a cure for every health problem, including cancer, in nature, providing that cure could be found in time. He seldom advocated operations, believing that surgery was much overworked.

Aside from reducing or dissolving tumors, castor oil is also regarded as a natural remedy for other swellings in the skin. It can be massaged on bunions, moles, warts, calluses, and cysts. There are also reports that uterine fibroid tumors and ovarian cysts that are benign or non-cancerous may also be addressed by castor oil.

How Does Castor Oil Tumor Treatment Work?

Castor oil primarily contains ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid component that is notable for its many healing benefits for the human body. Ricinoleic acid possesses the ability to draw toxins and other poisonous components out of the tissues, thereby restoring the health of parts of your body that have been infected.

What Is the Method of Using Castor Oil Therapy for Tumor?

Castor oil for treating tumors is done externally through a castor oil pack, which is made by soaking a piece of wool or cotton flannel in high-quality, cold-pressed oil. Castor oil packs are a kind of natural therapy traditionally and frequently used to improve the body’s circulation, elimination and healing processes. They can provide cure for a variety of conditions such as disorders in the lymph, sciatic nerve, and many other ailments.

This castor oil pack is placed over the infected area to promote the healing of the tissues underneath the skin. Afterwards, a hot water bottle or any form of heating pad is put all over it. It is recommended that you let the castor oil pack over the tumor for a minimum of one hour up to 3 hours, for 3 to 7 days in a week to treat the condition. This will ensure more visible results.

Check with Your Doctor First Before Using Castor Oil

Should you notice that you have tumor-like conditions in your body, make sure you get a proper diagnosis from your doctor before you seek treatment. Once you know your real condition and if indeed, you find that you have tumors, consult with your doctor first on the possible treatments that are available for you, including the possibility of using castor oil therapy. He or she can recommend the most appropriate treatment for you.

Keep in mind, however, avoiding the use of castor oil for cancerous tumors as it might only aggravate your already serious condition.

Lung cancer is a illness marked by uncontrolled cell growth in the lung which may lead to metastasis/ spread to other parts of the body (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009). The majority of lung cances are carcinomas of the lung, derived from epithelial cells (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009). Lung cancer is the most common form of cancer related death in men and women and it causes approximately 1.3 million deaths annually worldwide with the highest rates of lung cancer in Europe and North America in people over age 50 (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009). The main types of this cancer are small cell lung carcinoma and non-small cell lung carcinoma (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009).

The most common cause of lung cancer is long-term exposure to tobacco smoke (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009). The occurrence of lung cancer in nonsmokers, who account for as many as 15% of cases is often attributed to a combination of genetic factors, radon gas, asbestos, air polution, smoke and secondhand smoke (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009).

SYMPTOMS
Specific symptoms of lung cancer include the following: dyspnea (shortness of breath), hemoptysis (coughing up blood), chronic coughing or change in regular coughing pattern, wheezing, chest pain or pain in the abdomen, cachexia (weight loss), fatigue, and loss of appetite, dysphonia (hoarse voice), clubbing of the fingernails (uncommon), and dysphagia (difficulty swallowing) (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009).
Diagnosis of lung cancer occurs via chest radiograph and computed tomography (CT scan) and the diagnosis is then confirmed with a biopsy which is done using bronchoscopy or CT-guided biopsy (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009). Treatment and prognosis of the lung cancer depend upon the histological type of cancer, the stage of the cancer or how much it has spread, and the individual patient (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009).
TRADITIONAL MEDICINE TREATMENTS AND PROGNOSIS
With treatment, the five-year survival rate is 14% (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009). Possible treatments for lung cancer include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, interventional radiology, and targeted therapy treatment such as the drug Getfitinib or Erlotinib (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009). Another treatment is the use of Bevacizumab (in combination with Paclitaxel and Carboplatin) and it improves survival of patients with advanced non small cell lung carcinoma, however, there is also increased risk of lung bleeding in patients with squamous cell carcinoma (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009). There is current ongoing research with various treatments such as as cyclo-oxygenase-2 inhibitors, exisulind, proteasome inhibitors, bexarotene cetuximab, and vaccines (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009). Additional areas of research planning include ras proto-oncogene inhibition, phophoinositide 3-kinase inhibition, histone deacetylase inhibition, and tumor suppressor gene replacement (as cited in Wikipedia, 2009).
EDGAR CAYCE’S PERSPECTIVE OF CANCER- ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE

Edgar Cayce, father of holistic medicine, gave many readings for persons suffering from a wide variety of cancerous conditions (A.R.E., 2009). Pertaining to cancer, Cayce described cancer as a situation where a group of cells or tissues seperates itself and forms its own entity within the body (A.R.E., 2009). Cayce also said that the causes of cancer are as follows: insufficient elimination of wastes from the body, genetics, environmental toxins, injury, lack of vitality, depleted immune system, and chronic irritation or bruising, and karma or karmic issues (A.R.E., 2009).

CAYCE TREATMENT SUGGESTIONS FOR CANCER IN GENERAL:

In order to cure cancer, Cayce recommended decreasing the amount of toxicity in the body and increasing vitality to heal the person and natural therapies were given “priority” in this effort (A.R.E., 2009). Surgery and radiation were sometimes recommended by Cayce if the cancer was extreme and fast moving [although modern chemotherapy treatments were not available during Cayce’s lifetime] (A.R.E., 2009). In some cases, Cayce acknowledged that the cancer had progressed to far to expect the patient to be physically cured (A.R.E., 2009). In those cases, Cayce recommended treatments that he felt would decrease the patient’s pain while also emphasizing the mental/spiritual/soul aspects of treatment and healing (A.R.E., 2009). However, there were cases where the cancer of various kinds was cured using Cayce’s approach—for example, the following cases of cancer [described in the Cayce readings] were indexed as cured using the Cayce approach (A.R.E., 2009):

Cayce reading 4901 male cancer of the lip
Cayce reading 2457 female cancer of the breast
Cayce reading 1967 male cancer of the ear
Cayce reading 1500 female sarcoma of the breast and legs
Cayce reading 757 female cancer of the skin
Cayce reading 570 male cancer of the abdomen

CAYCE TREATMENT SUGGESTIONS SPECIFICALLY FOR LUNG CANCER

Edgar Cayce On Cancer Cures

Cayce gave readings for 7 people who were experiencing lung cancer (A.R.E., 2009). A summary of Cayce’s suggestions for lung cancer are as follows (A.R.E., 2009):

Improve eliminations and decrease toxicity with cleansing diet and hydrotherapy (castor oil packs and colon therapy [i.e. colonics]);
Utilize ultra-violet light therapy and animated ash to assist the system in fighting the cancer while increasing oxygen in the system;
Provide inhalant therapy to purify the lungs (apple brandy from charred oak keg);
Increase vitality with beef juice taken in small quantities as a medicine;
Create constructive attitudes and emotions by working with the Ideals Exercise.
Specifically diet would have to be alkaline because Cayce often suggested alkaline diet in healing (A.R.E., 2009). Specific dietary suggestions that Cayce made included citrus fruit or cooked or dry cereal for breakfast, plain raw lettuce salad for lunch [with no salad dressing], and steamed vegetables and fish for dinner (A.R.E., 2009). Also drinking at least 8 glasses of water per day was often suggested by Cayce to help remove toxins from the body and assist in healing (A.R.E., 2009). Also he suggested avoidance of fried foods, excess flour foods, and other unhealthy foods (A.R.E., 2009).

Also possibly relevant would be use of the Cayce wet cell appliance in cases of lung cancer. Why? Because Cayce did recommend use of the wet cell in a case of cancer. For example, in Cayce reading #1500-2, Cayce recommended that a 53 year old woman with breast cancer use the wet cell to improve her vibrations and also he recommended spinal manipulations for her (page 91, Todeschi, 2007). This woman did what Cayce suggested and used the wet cell and had [osteopathic] spinal manipulations and she was reportedly cured of her breast cancer (p. 91, Todeschi, 2007). Since the wet cell cured the breast cancer, it is felt that the wet cell would also have potential to help cure other types of cancer such as lung cancer, esophageal cancer and other cancers as well. Of note, what Cayce’s suggestion of using the wet cell to help heal cancer is actually consistent with research done by Nobel Prize winning scientist Dr. Otto Van Warburg who found that healthy cells were somewhere in the range of 70 millivolts or more whereas cancer cells were as low as 15 to 20 millivolts (as cited in SEAD, 2009). Thus based on Dr. Van Warburg’s research on millivolts, since healthy cells and good health are associated with higher levels of voltage in the cells [70 millivolts to 90 millivolts] and since cancer is associated with lower levels of voltage in the cells [15 to 50 millivolts] (as cited in SEAD, 2009), it does appear that increasing the level of voltage in the cells would be critically important in helping the cells of the body become healthier and not vulnerable to cancer and so therefore use of the Cayce wet cell to help heal cancer would, in theory, make a lot of sense because the using the Cayce wet cell does increase the level of electricity in the body.

Implementing the wet cell treatments, typically the wet cell is used in prescribed ways described by Cayce [for example with the nickel plate placed on the umbilicus [just up slightly and to the right of the navel ] and copper plate placed on the back at the 9th dorsal for example or at other points along the back depending on the particular illness] however the wet cell is ALSO used in such a way that the helpful energies flow through the afflicted body part (Delany, 2008). So given that lung cancer is in the lungs, presumably in addition to doing the placement with the nickel plate on the umbilicus and the copper plate at the 9th dorsal, some of the time the placement of the nickel plate and copper plate would have to be such that the energies flowed through the lung/chest area so as to help heal cancer in that area. And if cancer were in any other area in the body, the wet cell placement would have to be such that the healing energies would flow through the specific area afflicted with the cancer in order to enable curing of the cancer [or at the very least it would likely slow down the growth of the cancer which might extend the person’s life]. Further research needs to be done on this.

Cayce suggested use of castor oil packs in cases of lung cancer. Of note, a double-blind study, which was described by Harvey Grady in a report entitled “Immunomodulation through Castor Oil Packs” published in 1997 in the Journal of Naturopathic Medicine, examined the lymphocyte values of 36 healthy subjects both before and after topical castor oil application (as cited in Avian-Web, LLC, 2009). This study indicated that castor oil is an antitoxin and found that the castor oil use had an impact on the lymphatic system and improved immune system function (as cited in Avian-Web, LLC, 2009). Specifically, in this study it was found that castor oil pack therapy of a minimal two-hour duration produced an increase in the number of T-11 cells within a 24-hour period following treatment with a simultaneous increase in the number of total lymphocytes (as cited in Avian-Web, LLC, 2009). This means that this study showed proof that using the castor oil packs resulted in a general increase in the body’s immune function because 1) there was an increase in the number of T-11 cells within 24 hours after the castor oil packs were used and since T-cells’s specific purpose is to identify and kill viruses, fungi, bacteria, and cancer cells, an increase in T-11 cells means that the body is becoming more able to kill viruses, fungi, bacteria and cancer and in terms of treatment that is a good sign, and 2) in this study, the castor oil packs resulted in an increase in the number of total lymphocytes and since lymphocytes’ purpose is to defend the body’s health by forming antibodies against pathogens and their toxins, an increase in lymphocytes is also a good sign for healing.

Another thing worth noting too is that castor oil packs have been anecdotally reported to dissolve tumors (Armand and Lorrie, 2009)—in this case the castor oil dissolved a renal clear cell carcinoma tumor on the kidney. Since castor oil worked to help dissolve a renal clear cell carcinoma tumor on the kidney, it is possible castor oil would dissolve other kinds of tumors in other parts of the body too. And so if a tumor is involved, castor oil packs may be helpful in getting rid of the tumor.

Cayce felt that ideally people should do things to prevent the occurence of cancer so that they’d never have to experience cancer (A.R.E., 2009). For instance, Cayce felt that keeping healthy diet and having good eliminations and having healthy positive attitudes [and not worrying excessively] can help prevent cancer (A.R.E., 2009). He also felt that in cases where cancer was diagnosed, early intervention was important in producing better healing results. Specific therapies such as iodex and ash ointment and plantain salve were suggested by Cayce to prevent lumps and tumors from becoming malignant (A.R.E., 2009). Gentle osteopathic treatment was also often suggested in order to set up “drainages” and improve eliminations thus decreasing the chances for cancer (A.R.E., 2009).

OTHER POTENTIALLY RELEVANT ALTERNATIVE THERAPY FOR CANCER

Of note, Dr. Otto Van Warburg, in his research, reportedly found that normal cells would become cancerous if the oxygen level in the environment was lowered by 35% for 48 hours (as cited in SEAD, 2009). And so getting oxygen into the cells would be important in healing. Another treatment that could be helpful is sound therapy. For example, Fabien Maman, a French bioenergeticist, studied the effects of sound on cells in the body and working with breast cancer patients, Maman found that when sound was used, one breast cancer patient’s tumor completely disappeared while the other breast cancer patient’s tumor “dried up” (as cited in Jordan-Reilly, 2009). He concluded from this that cancer cells could be destroyed by sound therapy (as cited in Jordan-Reilly, 2009). Also in support of sound therapy, physicians at Royal Marsden Hospital in London, England found that high density ultrasound was an effective means of doing “knifeless surgery” on liver cancer and other organ tumors (as cited in Jordan-Reilly, 2009). And reportedly in China, patients with liver and pancreas cancer have had their tumors “cooked” by using sound therapy which somehow raises the temperature of the tumors and kills the tumors instantly (as cited in Jordan-Reilly, 2009).

There is an oncologist who has increasingly used non-traditional/ alternative therapies in his practice. Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, who is currently a clinical professor of medicine at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University (Gaynor Integrative Oncology, 2009), has become a leader in the movement toward integrative oncology—combining traditional Western medicine (chemotherapy, radiation, bone marrow transplants) with Eastern techniques such as meditation and yoga, along with lifestyle changes, nutrition programs, and dietary supplements (as cited in Armstrong, 2009) (Gaynor Integrative Oncology, 2009). Gaynor began using eastern spiritual practices when he treated a Tibetan monk who introduced him to chanting and to the metal singing bowls that are used in his medical practice now (as cited in Armstrong, 2009). At the time he started prescribing Eastern approaches, he had already studied the effects of nutrition on cancer treatment and prevention and had been doing guided imagery with patients. But then he decided to use his extensive credentials in traditional medicine to take holistic medicine to the masses (as cited in Armstrong, 2009).
